Neutral shoes are the softest of all the running shoes. They provide minimal stability with optimal cushioning. These shoes are designed for runners with high or neutral arches.

Stability shoes help control mild pronation. They provide stability with extra medial (arch-side) support and higher density foam. These shoes are designed for runners with neutral arches who need mild to moderate medial support.

Motion Control shoes offer the highest level of over-pronation correction. Many of these shoes contain rigid midsole features made of plastic or fiberglass. These shoes are designed for runners with low arches or heavy body frames that need maximum stability.

Basketball Shoes
The game of basketball is full of short explosive movements on a hard playing surface. Basketball shoes have a thick, stiff midsole and rigid heel counter to provide optimal stability. The constant motion, as well as the high impact of jumping, requires adequate cushioning to reduce shock and prevent injury. Basketball shoes also have specific outsoles that provide traction for running and cutting, while still allowing pivoting motions.

Cleated Shoes
These are shoes used in baseball, football, lacrosse and soccer. The main advantage of these shoes is the traction they provide. Tennis Shoes
This sport requires the same stability and cushioning elements as basketball shoes. They also have a padded toe box that helps prevent injuries suffered by tennis players.

The material from the outsole is often wrapped around to the front of the shoe to protect the toes from the friction that occurs while the foot is being dragged during the serve. These shoes are usually designed to keep the foot closer to the ground to give the most support and stability without sacrificing function.
